Çağsan fixed ladder systems are evaluated with different engineering approaches depending on the total access height. Single-section fixed ladders offer practical installation, structural integrity and economic application advantages for applications with a total access height of up to 10,000 mm. According to EN ISO 14122-4, ladder systems with a total height of more than 3,000 mm and up to 10,000 mm are assessed within a specific framework; within this range, the ladder system may be designed as a single section, while a safety cage or an appropriate fall-protection solution becomes relevant when the total access height exceeds 3,000 mm. For this reason, single-section solutions provide a suitable and efficient system for low- and medium-height professional access requirements.
For fixed ladders exceeding 10,000 mm, the system design changes. Beyond this level, the solution is no longer considered simply as a longer ladder, but as a system consisting of multiple sections, with planned transitions and, where necessary, supported by platforms. EN ISO 14122-4 summaries indicate that when the total access height exceeds 10,000 mm, the length of each ladder section should not exceed 6,000 mm. Therefore, two-section fixed ladders provide the right solution for applications exceeding 10 metres but still remaining within a relatively compact height range, particularly in terms of shipping, handling, installation and system continuity.
For applications requiring greater access heights, multi-section fixed ladder systems become the preferred solution. According to the standard’s provisions regarding platform arrangement, intermediate platforms, rest areas and section transitions become increasingly important in taller systems. The arrangement of platforms depends on the total ladder height, the section layout and the fall-protection system used. For this reason, multi-section fixed ladders should not be regarded merely as longer ladders, but as professional system solutions designed to meet the need for safe transition, resting, change of direction and controlled access.
A fixed ladder system does not consist only of the ladder body itself. When evaluated together with safety cage components, wall mounting brackets, ground anchoring elements, intermediate rest platforms, top exit handrails, transition platforms, safety gates and access barriers, the system becomes a complete safe and controlled access solution. Therefore, presenting single-section, two-section and multi-section ladder groups together with fixed ladder components explains the system logic of the product family more clearly to the user
